FRAMA Issues

The test ATM issues type FRAMA in Cuba began from the Resolution of the Ministry of Communications nr. 49 of February 12, 1984, signed by the Minister of Communications Lic. Pedro Guelmes González.

In this Resolution is authorized of experimental way the establishment for the public service of distributing machines of postal effects in the national territory and according to the country needs. Next it describes the characteristics of the ATM issue : " it will include the legend " CUBA " in the superior part, " CORREOS " in the inferior part, reserving the central area for the value that the user wishes to use ". 
 

From this Resolution, COPREFIL (Empresa de Correos, Prensa y Filatelia - Posts, Press and Philately Company) initiates the issue of up to 4 different models of ATMs in occasion of postal and philatelic manifestations in Germany and La Habana, according to the possibility offered in the section third of this Resolution.  In all the cases a same white paper was used as a support, with the image of a tropical landscape in grey, and different clichés according to the event. For the issues an ATM distributor type FRAMA-WZA model FE 133 was used.

Authorized from the Resolution nr. 125 of May 4, 1984, establish that the new issue will have the same format that described in the Resolution nr. 49, but adding allusive texts to the event. 
Machine FRAMA was located in stand of "Numiversal", agent of COPREFIL in Germany. It was in operation during the days of the Fair and issued 3 basic values, considered as a set : 5, 13, 30 c.

The Resolution nr. 126 of May 4, 1984 establishes the characteristics and design of this new ATM issue. 
Machine FRAMA was in operation also only during the days of the Congress and issued again 3 basic values, considered as a set : 5, 13, 30 c.

From the October 26 to the 28, 1984 a Philatelic Exhibition in Sindelfingen was celebrated. As in the two previous occasions they wanted to issue a new special ATM but it was not possible for time reasons. That's why the Director of Cuban Posts authorized the Director of COPREFIL to use the definitive model established in the Resolution nr. 49. 
In this case, machine FRAMA was located again in the commercial stand of " Numiversal " and COPREFIL distributed as a basic set the 6 values: 5, 20, 25, 30, 35, 50 c.

The Resolution nr. 56 of March 14, 1985 establishes the characteristics and design of this new ATM issue. 
Machine FRAMA was located in a room of the Hotel Habana Libre and it got out of service the March 21 definitively. Despite that its pre-programmed values are only 5, 20 and 50 c., COPREFIL commercialized a basic set of 5 values : 5, 20, 25, 30, 50 c.
