Sixth issue of Postal Architecture ATMs set.
The Ferrol General Post Office or "Casa de Correos de Ferrol" is located in the Praza de Galicia, in the Alameda de Suances.

In this building can be found some elements coming from the first project in modernist style by the architect Rodolfo Ucha in 1917. But finally the building was a project by Joaquin Otamendi Machimbarrena in collaboration with Antonio Palacios.
The construction started in 1934 and was inaugurated in 1935.

The "Casa de Correos" (Post House) has a big central courtyard covered with a stained glass ceiling showing the coat of arms used during the 2nd Republic). Around the courtyard there are the post windows and different offices.

The main gate of the building is accessible using a flight of steps. This gate have the coat of arms of Spain (Republic) and Ferrol. The towers next to the main door contain the stairs to the other floors.

The first floor was used for administration but the main part was occupied by the manager's apartment. Under the roof, the third floor was used for administration and the caretaker's flat.

The four façades are different. Some of them have typical balconies. The left one is used as a subject for this ATM issue.

It is a beautiful building with very well preserved exterior.
