The ATM series about vintage cars initiated in 2001 is retaken in 2003-2004 with 6 new ATM issues from vehicles exposed in the Museo de Historia de la Automocion de Salamanca

The first ATM design of this new group it's dedicated to the French mark Amilcar and one of his more well known models, the CGSS of 1927.

The French Emile Akar and Joseph Lamy founded the society of the Cycle cars Amilcar on 1921; the name comes from the phonetic contraction of its two names, Lamy and Akar

The first Amilcar vehicle, designed by Edmond Moyet, was the CC (Cycle Car), a model of two seats and motor of 4 cylinders in line and 904 cm3 (6 CV). This first vehicle was available in sport version "CS" and also for families "C4" (for 4 people).
But the most famous of all them was the model CGS (Grand Sport) of 1924, with a 1074 cm3 motor and brakes in the four wheels, that it still evolved until a more sport version with the CGSS (of Sport Grand Surbaisée), the subject for this current ATM issue.

Other models with different engines, mainly small cars, were made by the company Amilcar in the following years; M, M2, M3, M4, C8...
The production became paralysed with World War II and no longer it was retaken never more.
