See the main printing varieties

This is the last design manufactured by SIGNE, S.A.. This company was the winner of the Correos public tender in December 2002 for the production of 500.000 rolls of adhesive labels. The next models will be manufactured by the RCM-FNMT.

The labels of this issue show important differences in the main tonality, and it's possible to find labels from white to darkest background. This variations appears in the manufacture-printing process of the adhesive labels and they are more or less common in all the issues.

The team-design of the RCM-FNMT introduced some important changes in the issue.
Perhaps the most obvious is the change of position, direction and font type of the word ESPAÑA, (horizontal in the SIGNE version and vertical to the right in the RCM-FNMT product).

Note the position, size and font of SAMMER GALLERY. Red Life, in the vertical form on the left in the first issue, and Red Life. SAMMER GALLERY, horizontal in the lower right corner in second one). This change in the position, as well as the reduction in size of the word CORREOS and the logo in the second version results in an area for picture which is larger (38 mm in the first, 40 mm in the second) allowing for a more complete picture to be reproduced. See how all of the pumpkin (far right) is shown in the second version.

But the differences in the design does not end here. We can also see that the microprinting of CORREOS (vertical to the left in both cases) is repeated 5 times in the first issue and 6 times in the second.

The logo size printed with invisible ink in the base of the adhesive label is smaller in the second model.

The new manufacturer also uses another type of thermal paper for the label as the rear paper that serves as the backing, another printing system and the format (size, type of side undulations and characteristic of the central cut) is different in relation to the previous issue.

In this new stage, it seems that the RCM-FNMT has corrected the well well-known and documented cyclical manufacture errors
(From a first perfectly delimited support, the next labels were moving more and more the design downwards. This succession was cyclical and it repeats each 21 supports).

Even so in some rolls of this model we find again a peculiar cyclical printing error; again each 21 labels appear a fine black line in the base that crosses horizontally the white strip.
It will be interesting to verify if it is an error of only some rolls or it's common to all the production.

The first impression is that it could be a printing error of the franking balance when printing the face value on the ATM, but the study in detail, its cyclical character, and coverall the lne appearing also in blank labels confirms that it is a printing error in the manufacture.
