Tenth issue of the longest
ATM series in Spain,
authentic tribute to a unique vehicle made in Spain in '20s, the
Donosti.
In 1924, two Basque
manufacturing different components for the new car industry, Mendiburu
and Mañero, decide the manufacture of a vehicle in their
totality.
In
its factories of the Garaje Internacional they built the
6 cylinders engine in 1925, the aluminium bodywork, ... and in 1928
a great quality car was completely finished.
The presentation was in July
25th, 1928, in the Gran Premio de Lasarte (Lasarte's
Grand Prize). |
|
|
|
Despite to be one of the best
vehicles designed and manufactured completely in Spain, they never
considered its mass production, perhaps by financial lack, and the Donosti
stayed as unique piece.
The ATM
show the image of a vintage car in the Museo de Historia de la Automocion
de Salamanca (MHAS). |
