In 2018, Korea Post organized a philatelic exhibition from October 2nd to 6th, at Seoul's Culture Station 284, an old railway station transformed into a cultural center in 2011. Invited by the postal administration, the French company Cartor Security Printing participated with a display of its printing equipment and a demonstration DKU desktop kiosk, with the code CSP2. This unit used by the many visitors issued special souvenir labels/cinderellas with no postal value.
As on previous occasions, visitors had the opportunity to obtain labels either with the default imprint with the current date, and a daily graphic in Korean characters (left strip), or to customize them with some text and a facial emoji.
After the Seoul exhibition, Cartor Security Printing participated in another philatelic event in Asia, the 53rd Japan philatelic exhibition - JAPEX 2018.
JAPEX 2018 marked the 160th anniversary of Franco-Japanese relations, and Cartor decided to produce two different rolls of self-adhesive sample labels. Each roll includes six consecutive designs that reproduce French stamps of the well-known artist series, mostly impressionist painters, issued between 1962 and 2006. Visitors could obtain strips of four or six sample souvenir labels, with no postal value, with predefined texts/graphics, or customize the imprint on the labels, even adding an emoji. ( Note. As usual, ATEEME members and VARIABLE subscribers will receive free samples of all these issues)
