CARTOR special editions - 2018

Korean Stamp Exhibition

In 2018, Korea Post organized a philatelic exhibition from October 2nd to 6th, at Seoul's Culture Station 284, an old railway station transformed into a cultural center in 2011. Invited by the postal administration, the French company Cartor Security Printing participated with a display of its printing equipment and a demonstration DKU desktop kiosk, with the code CSP2. This unit used by the many visitors issued special souvenir labels/cinderellas with no postal value.

For the Seoul exhibition, Cartor produced rolls of sample self-adhesive thermal labels on film or transparent backing paper. The labels featured a colourful image of Bokjumeoni, the Korean lucky handbags made of silk cloth which are traditionally used during the Lunar New Year festivities.

As on previous occasions, visitors had the opportunity to obtain labels either with the default imprint with the current date, and a daily graphic in Korean characters (left strip), or to customize them with some text and a facial emoji.

JAPEX 2018

After the Seoul exhibition, Cartor Security Printing participated in another philatelic event in Asia, the 53rd Japan philatelic exhibition - JAPEX 2018.

Organized by the Japan Philatelic Society, this event was held on the weekend of November 16th to 18th, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Taito kan.
Cartor attended the exhibition with its CSP1 demonstration kiosk (image) and two DKU desktop printers, with codes CSP2 and CSP3.

JAPEX 2018 marked the 160th anniversary of Franco-Japanese relations, and Cartor decided to produce two different rolls of self-adhesive sample labels. Each roll includes six consecutive designs that reproduce French stamps of the well-known artist series, mostly impressionist painters, issued between 1962 and 2006. Visitors could obtain strips of four or six sample souvenir labels, with no postal value, with predefined texts/graphics, or customize the imprint on the labels, even adding an emoji.
