| Borboletas, moths of Portugal (II) |

After the first series issued in October 2017 (see article, also published in VARIABLE 47),
Correios de Portugal this year launches, a second series of three designs depicting the Portuguese borboletas.
The illustrations are again by the Portuguese illustrator José Projecto. The three moths depicted, appear along with their caterpillars or larvae, and are the Lasiocampa quercus, Utetheisa pulchella and Zygaena trifolii. These Lepidoptera insects belong to different families or taxonomic groups; Lasiocampidae, Erebidae and Zygaenidae, respectively. |

The rolls of self-adhesive labels were printed by offset and manufactured by the Portuguese company Uinou / Labelxprint.
The size of the labels is 55 x 30 mm., and includes a preprinted sequential number on the back of the silicone coated backing paper. |

The new set of three designs went on sale at all Newvision postal kiosks from May 4th 2018.
Following the increase in postal tariffs one month earlier, on April 2nd, the direct printing of stamps with seven programmed values were available from the Newvision E-Post 2000 machines (see table below) - five for non-priority mail or Correio Normal (0.53 - 0.70 - 0.75 - 0.86 - 0.91 EUR), and two for priority mail or Correio Azul (0.65 - 2.90 EUR).
Other postage values are also available from those E-Post 2000 M postal kiosks, fitted with scales.

| NITROGEN, neither too much nor too little |
The second series of ATM designs for 2018 is dedicated to a new social subject, in this case highlighting the importance of nitrogen in our lives.
Nitrogen is present in our DNA and in the air we breathe and is indispensable for the production of food for life. It can therefore cause environmental problems if not present at the right levels; Nitrogen, neither too much nor too little.

The School of Agronomy and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, in conjunction with university centres in the United Kingdom and Denmark, have set up the 'NitroPortugal' project, with the aim of assessing the levels of nitrogen pollution in water and air in the country, and its impact on the emission of greenhouse gases. |

The new series consists of three designs by Atelier Design&etc / Hélder Soares, dedicated to the presence of nitrogen in water, air and agriculture.
The set went on sale at Newvision postal kiosks from November 23rd 2018. On this day, Newvision E-Post 2000 machines supplied direct printing of stamps with seven programmed values (see table below) -
five for non-priority mail or Correio Normal (0.53 - 0.70 - 0.75 - 0.86 - 0.91 EUR), and two for priority mail or Correio Azul (0.65 - 2.90 EUR).
Other postage values are also available from those E-Post 2000 M postal kiosks which are fitted with scales.
